Accomplishments and Achievements

Professional Experience

I currently oversee and lead strategic engagement at Hennepin County. This includes working with county commissioners, agency leaders and community to build relationships, create partnerships and connections both internally and externally. Prior to this role, I co-led a project along Penn Avenue in North Minneapolis that focused on stimulating economic development, enhancing livability and improving connectivity.

My career with Hennepin started when I finished graduate school and started working for Hennepin County Commissioner Gail Dorfman as a policy aide. I learned about local politics and good governance. It was eye-opening and set me up to be able to be a decisive problem-solver and consensus builder.

Prior to that, I worked in various non-profits (African American Family Services, Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement). After undergrad, I moved to Washington, D.C. to work for Congressman Jim Ramstad, the Committee on Ways and Means and ended my D.C. experience working for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky before moving back to Minnesota.

Education

I have worked across all political lines and feel comfortable working in many settings. I have a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Leadership and Bachelors degree in Political Science, both were earned at the University of St. Thomas.
